She is a busy mother of two, but what makes Kajol special is her amazing on screen presence.

Kajol was born to a family which has close connections with movies. Her mother Tanuja and her aunt Nutan were actors, whilst her late father Shomu Mukherjee was a film producer. So, it was just normal for her to take up acting
Kajol left her school, St. Josephs Convent and started her career at the age of seventeen. Although her debut film, "Bekhudi' (1992) went unnoticed, her performance was noticed. She was not a dancing sensation, nor was she a fair girl. She had a sparkle in her eye and a will power which allowed her to find her own place in Bollywood
Her first commercial success came in a big way with her second film "Baazigar' (1993) along with Shahrukh Khan and she never had to look back. The chemistry between Kajol and SRK was an instant hit. She went on to do more blockbuster movies with SRK. 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', 'Karan Arjun', 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', and more recently, 'My Name is Khan, were all box office successes
In 1997, Kajol starred in "Gupt: The Hidden Truth'. Co-starring actors Bobby Deol and Manisha Koirala, the film was one of the highest grossing films of that year. Apart from that, her performance was a significant development for female actors in Bollywood; she was the first female actor to win the Filmfare Best Villain Award
Awards and accolades came searching for her. "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' (1995), "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' (1998) and "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' (2001) got her three Filmfare Best Actress Awards
She starred in her first Tamil film, "Minsaara Kanavu'. The film was a major critical success and Kajol won her first Best Actress award at the Filmfare Awards South ceremony. In the same year, she was seen in the romantic-comedy "Ishq', where she was paired with her beau, Ajay Devgn. It performed well at the box office
Kajol got married to Ajay Devgn and took a break from acting.
She has starred with Kareena in 'We are Family'
Kajol has time and again said that she treats Karan Johar as a brother. She has played the lead in three flicks Karan has directed - 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' (1998), 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' (2001) and 'My Name Is Khan' (2010)
