A restaurant in Dubai has made its way into the Guinness Book of World Records for creating the world’s largest doner kebab.

The massive lamb kebab was cooked on a vertical rotating skewer as seen in most kebab shops throughout the world, but this ‘elephant’s leg’ measured an incredible 2.95m high and 0.6m wide! The huge slab of meat weighed a colossal 468kg, and was enough for 3,000 portions!

The lovely Tarika Vara, official adjudicator for Guinness World of Records, was on hand to verify the record after Guinness examiners measured the mutton.

The custom-built grill which the mammoth doner was cooked on was over 6m high, and conformed to international safety standards.

The doner was eventually dished out to thousands of hungry spectators, hopefully with plenty of chilli sauce and a nice Glasgow salad on the side.
