We all dread accidents (even insurance companies). But there are some accidents that seem to be specially designed to give auto insurance execs an aneurism.
.) 1991 Ferrari Testarossa and 1995 Ferrari 348 While this wreck isn’t in the same price stratosphere as most of the other accidents on this page, there are two things that make it a great opening wreck for this post. First, they’re both Ferraris, and you just don’t see that every day. Second, they were wrecked by two high school baseball players who were loaned the cars by their coach. Makes you wish you played ball at that high school, right?

.) 2004 Ferrari Modena Challenge Stradale and 1977 Porsche 911S These two cars were involved in a high-profile wreck in Newport Beach, CA. The Ferrari was totalled, while the wrecked Porsche was still driveable. (The Porsche left the scene of the accident.)

.) 2009 Audi R8, 2009 Range Rover and 2009 BMW 6 Series This wreck happened in Costa Mesa California. The Audi R8 plowed into the back of the Range Rover (not pictured), and the BMW 6-series couldn’t stop in time and sandwiched the R8. Not a great day for luxury automobiles.

.) 2009 Audi R8 and 2009 Ferrari 599 GTB In one of those moments that makes you realize that China really is picking up economic steam, in Fu Zhou, China a Ferrari 599 GTB slammed on its brakes when the cab ahead of it made a sudden stop – and the Ferrari got rear-ended by an Audi R8. What are the odds?

.) 2010 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 and 2010 Ferrari F430 This is a wreck with a story to tell. The accident happened as both cars were headed to a VIP wedding in South Africa. When people started taking pictures, the drivers of both cars started beating people up to get them to stop. Turns out, the Lambo driver was a former hitman who had been sentenced to 72 years in prison for the murder of 6 people, but had been granted amnesty. No citations were issued.

.) 2008 Koenigsegg CCX and 2009 Porsche GT2 The dealer decided to take a customer’s 2008 Koenigsegg CCX out for a drive and ended up eating a guardrail, but not before he managed to damage a 2009 Porsche GT2 as well.

.) 1973 DeTomaso Pantera GTS and 1955 Ferrari 625 While this accident might not look that bad at first glance, when you consider that the Ferrari involved is incredibly rare and is priced at roughly $1.3 million, you start to get the picture.

.) 2007 Bugatti Veyron and 2005 Vauxhall Astra As one of the most exclusive and expensive (and fastest) cars in the world, virtually any wrecked Bugatti Veyron is guaranteed to top this list, regardless of the price of the other vehicles involved. This accident is actually the first documented wreck of a Bugatti Veyron. When the owner let his brother take it for a spin, we’re pretty sure he didn’t mean for his brother to take it literally. Unfortunately, the brother took the Veyron out and promptly spun it out at 100+ mph, slamming it into a Vauxhall Astra driven by a pregnant woman and then ricocheted it into some trees before coming to a stop. Needless to say, family tensions were running a little high afterward, according to neighbors.
