It may not be a scientifically proven fact, but a widely accepted one, that everyone goes through a "post break-up makeover". Celebrities are known to flaunt post break-up transformations as much as their latest designer buys. Sidhartha Mallya is the latest celebrity to fall for the syndrome.
At a time when the air is filled with Valentine's Day mushiness, here's a guy who has gone for a cut-throat, no-nonsense, military look - maybe to declare his 'not interested in love or link-ups' status.
At a recent event, Sid was seen sporting a straight black jacket, teamed with a crisp white shirt and a tie in place. His gaunt, chiselled face betrayed a serious air as did his newly acquired army crew cut. The whole look was a new one for Mallya Junior which screamed strictly business.
The story was, of course, different when he had Deepika Padukone accompanying him to social dos.
Those were the times of spiky, gelled hair, party stubble and allnighter puffiness, loose shirts and white lounge suits. But now, he's sporting a disciplined, clean guy look
His angry-guy ways have also spilled over to Twitter where he picked up a fight with actress Ayesha Takia. Probably not taking being dumped too kindly, he's hitting Twitter and the treadmill more often than the party circuit.
Ayesha Takia took to Twitter to vent out her frustration after learning that a ground staff member of Kingfisher Airlines misbehaved with her younger sister Nisha at the airport. "The worst airline, kingfisher!!! shockingly baddddddddddd airport staff behaviour at the Delhi airport with my sister. This disgustingly behaved kingfisher staff called Vinay Podwal just tore my sister's boarding pass n misbehaved with her!!!!," an angry Ayesha wrote on her Twitter page.
However, the Twitter rant against Kingfisher didn't go down well with its heir Sidhartha Mallya. "Been getting retweets about Ayesha Takia and KFA. not too sure who she is, an actor of some sorts?? But it seems something has upset her!!" he posted. "Don't know why Ayesha Takia is tweeting so much when she wasn't even present. There are always two sides to a story. Pipe down love," he added.
Most celebs hit the gym with a vengeance after being dumped, possibly to show off to the ex what they might be missing. They also go for a change of hair and dressing styles. Kareena Kapoor got a size zero body, sported a bikini and got herself a designer wardrobe post her split with Shahid Kapoor.
Kangna Ranaut did the same after she was dumped by long-time beau Adhyayan Suman.
Bipasha Basu, following her break-up with John, got herself the best body in business and flaunted it well in a bikini for the film Players. Keeping up with the tradition, Sid is flaunting a 'new life, new self' phase. And he's looking quite good too.
